The 'dying' town of Civita di Bagnoregio -.
Founded by the Etruscans some 2,500 years ago, this beautiful Medieval town has a striking position overlooking the Tiber river valley. It is dying because the volcanic rock plateau it sits on is slowly crumbling away.
Viterbo - the provincial capital has one of the best preserved historic Medieval town centres in Italy. It is home to the Palazzo dei Papi, a past country residence and a place of refuge for the popes.
The Etruscan Necropolises of Tarquinia and Cerveteri - A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
